Living the Love of God:
We seek to be a welcoming spiritual home for all
where we strive to love God and God’s creation
and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Church of the Good Shepherd currently provides Zoom worship services on Sunday mornings at 9:30 and on Wednesdays at noon. We are also offering Morning Prayer on Mondays at 8:30 and Evening Prayer on Fridays at 4:00. All times are MT. Other groups such as Bible Study, Education for Ministry, and Contemplative Prayer meet regularly on Zoom as well.
Silver City, New Mexico, is in Southwestern New Mexico, located where the Chihuahuan Desert and the Pinos Altos and Mongollon ranges meet. The Gila National Forest and Aldo Leopold Wilderness Area are in our backyard.
Below is information from pre-coronavirus days:
When we will return to having services in the church will depend on decisions made at the Diocese level.
We welcome all visitors and hope you will share your time with us. All baptized persons are welcome to participate in Communion. Please identify yourself as a visitor and sign our guest book in the vestibule.
After each Eucharist, join us in fellowship and refreshments in the parish hall.
Where We Come From
Most of us live in and around Silver City, but we have members from the Mimbres, Pinos Altos, Cliff, Deming, and other towns and rural areas in the region.
Some live close, but their health keeps them home. For those folks, worship comes to them, as Eucharistic Visitors take the Eucharist to them.
Although we have many cradle Episcopalians, we have a large number of members who come from other Protestant denominations, as well as from the Roman Catholic tradition. Though we range in age from young children to over ninety, the largest distribution is in the 30-70 age bracket. The interaction of the young and old helps create a stability and commitment within our parish family.
Everyone is welcome.
