Where People at Good Shepherd Come From

Most of us live in and around Silver City, but we have members from the Mimbres, Pinos Altos, and other towns and rural areas in the region. Our dynamic membership is from all over the U.S.

Although we have many cradle Episcopalians, we have a large number of members who come from other Protestant denominations, as well as from the Roman Catholic tradition. We range in age from young children to over 100 years of age. The interaction of the young and old helps create a stability and commitment within our parish family.

Everyone is welcome. The Episcopal Church does not have closed communion.

Silver City, New Mexico, is in Southwestern New Mexico, located where the Chihuahuan Desert and the Pinos Altos and Mongollon ranges meet. The Gila National Forest and Aldo Leopold Wilderness Area are in our backyard. Silver City is a beautiful city nestled in the high desert at 6,000 feet. The Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument is nearby.
