Welcome to the Church of the Good Shepherd, where our worship style is steeped in tradition. We offer two Sunday morning services to cater to different preferences: the 8:00 service follows the timeless Rite I without musical accompaniment, while the 10:30 service features Rite II, complete with a choir and procession.
Our church life thrives on the meaningful special services and liturgies that form the core of our worship experience. These include confirmations, baptisms, weddings, and funerals, as well as the cherished traditions of a Christmas Midnight Mass, the profound symbolism of Maundy Thursday, and the jubilant celebration of Easter.
Our congregation demonstrates its commitment to the church and to one another through active support of special events and financial contributions.
Music holds a special place in our worship life, primarily adhering to traditional styles. Our choir and organ regularly enhance congregational singing, sometimes accompanied by other instruments. Additionally, our handbell choir performs once a month from October through May.
Join us for a Taize worship service on the second Friday of each month at 5:30 p.m. This service combines the meditative beauty of Taize-style music with healing elements, led by dedicated members of The Order of St. Luke.
At the Church of the Good Shepherd, we encourage a love for God through learning. Our parish offers a vibrant Sunday school program for children up to age twelve during the 10:00 service. Adult Sunday school classes are also available between services, starting at 9:15 a.m.
Fellowship is an essential aspect of our faith journey. We proudly host various groups, including an active Daughters of the King chapter, a Brotherhood of St. Andrew chapter, a Cursillo group, and a chapter of The Order of St. Luke. Our parish organizes “Fifth Sunday” parish breakfasts, operates a bookshop, hosts quarterly “First Saturday” Garage Sales, and holds an annual Church Bazaar, with all profits dedicated to vestry-approved missions. Additionally, we gather for communal lunches every Wednesday after Mass, and during Lent, we invite guest speakers from neighboring churches. Throughout the year, we offer several retreats to enrich your spiritual life.
