meets every second Wednesday of the month (or thereabouts)
and today I heard something that made a lot of sense, under the heading: how come we don’t have big production Christmas Eve pageants like we used to?
What I heard: One year, in a rehearsal, a child asked if he could stay after his part was done so he could see the rest. He said, ‘I’ve never seen the whole thing.’ The adult in the conversation had one of those AHA! moments. What’s the pageant for if not so the children can hear the story? play a part in the story they are part of?
It seemed like simpler is genuinely better, not just more feasible for a congregation without — at the moment — a lot of children.
